The Teklos Battle Vehicle is an adaptation of the commercial Mobile Command Base, which was intended to transport corporate execs and well-placed civilians with the ultimate in protected transport. One will note that the Mobile Command Base is the commercial repulsorlift version of the military tracked version that serves the Imperial Army, and was on the market at least after the loss of the ESSD Eclipse. On the planet of Teklos, the design was first adapted to counter swoop gangs who were engaged in turf wars. As time passed, this dependable vehicle became widely accepted as an all-purpose vehicle, capable of satisfying a number of underworld (criminal) needs. It has seen use as escorting crime family members to and from school, assaults on a rival gang's HQ, and participating in underworld heists. Its combination of firepower, protection, and comfort quickly made it a favourite of wealthy crime lords.
