Centerpoint Station is an enormous grey-white station located in the Corellian System, located at the barycentre (or midpoint) between Talus and Tralus. It presumably draws its power from the gravitational interflux between the double worlds. The station was built before the discovery of artificial gravity, thus it spins on its axis to provide centrifugal gravity. It is composed of a central sphere that is 100 km in diameter, with two long thick cylinders, coming from either side of the sphere. The ends of the cylinders are referred to as the North and South Poles. Centerpoint Station is almost 3 times larger than the Death Star Battle Station.
To explore the vast and complex maze of interior and exterior of the station would take several human lifetimes. The station is covered with a bewildering array of piping, cables, antennas, cone structures and access ports. Located in the open sphere in the centre of the station is the 60 km diameter Hollowtown, which is a colony. The walls of Hollowtown had been colonized with homes, parks, lakes, orchards and farmland, which receive their heat and light from the Glowpoint, an artificial sun suspended in the exact centre of the sphere. To simulate night, farmers installed adjustable shadow-shields, they appear as bright patches of gold or silver from above.
Centerpoint Station is believed
to have transported the five inhabited Corellian planets into their present
orbits from an unknown location, in times lost in the dust of history.
At the same point in time, the station was colonized and Hollowtown which
was actually a power containment battery for the massive energy firing
Tractor-Repulsor Hyperspace Burst became inhabited. Using the gravitic
potential from the planets of Talus and Tralus, the repulsor is capable
of opening a "gate" through hyperspace, seizing a planet and pulling it
back to the station through hyperspace. However, the amount of power needed
to move a planet through hyperspace is also capable of inducing a compression
wave in a star's core, triggering a nova explosion.
