An Imperial squadron of
Strike Cruisers were attempting to box in the MC80a Chie to prevent its
escape and to destroy it. The MC80a Chie was attempting to disengage from
pursuing Imperial Strike Cruisers Longbow 1 and 2 before it could be box
in by two more Strike Cruisers which were going to hyper in directly ahead
of the fleeing Rebel ship. The X-Wings took on the role of suppressing
the Strike Cruisers before they could get in range to engage the MC80a,
while the B-Wings were to clear a path for the MC80a to escape. The A-Wings
would provide starfighter cover. Avenger and Talon Squadrons were already
in the area and were heading towards the Rebels to engage them. Talon Squadron
was able to unleash a salvo of warheads at the MC80a. Shortly into the
battle, Strike Cruisers Longbow 3 and 4 hypered into the area to complete
the boxing of the MC80a. After Talon Squadron was defeated, Imperial Forces
called in reinforcement Assault Gunboats. The Assault Gunboats went after
the MC80a and the Rebel starfighters. The Rebels managed to cause severe
damage to pursuing Strike Cruisers Longbow 1 and 2, forcing them to retreat
out of the area. During the fighting severe damage was inflicted on the
MC80a's shields by Imperial Forces. Nearing the end of the fighting, the
Rebels were able to disable the remaining two Strike Cruisers moments after
the arrival of the VSD Skraeling, which launched 3 TIE Bombers to start
a new wave of attacks on the MC80a. Nearing the end of the battle shuttle
Lambda 1 was launched to repair the disabled Strike Cruisers. Throughout
the entire battle, none of the capital ships in the area traded fire. It
was not after the VSD Skraeling's arrival that the MC80a Chie was able
to escape the defeated Imperial trapping attempt.
