The Rebel High Command detected the arrival of the VSD Formidable in the Delalt System, which was in "their" sector. And at that time, in that area, Rebel Forces were critically short of warheads and the Rebels needed to destroy this Imperial VSD to make it possible for a Rebel resupply convoy to make to Rebel Forces. The Rebels could not afford heavy losses in this battle. With the VSD Formidable under attack, its captain called for reinforcements and the Nebulon-B Frigate Fury was on its way to assist. The VSD Formidable launched its TIE Interceptors in its own defence against the Rebel attackers. During the fighting more Rebel fighters were sent into the area, they were the X-Wings from Green Squadron. While the X-Wings concentrated on the VSD, the A-Wings concentrated their efforts against the TIE Interceptors. The Rebels were successful in bringing down the shields of the VSD Formidable and they were also able to cause light hull damage to the vessel as well. However the Rebels were not able to force the VSD into leaving the area or destroying it. With the extensive losses that the Rebels suffered, remaining Rebel Forces hypered out of area, to not face destruction by the victorious TIE Interceptors. The Nebulon-B Frigate Fury arrived in the area, after the battle was declared a victory, which was some time before the remaining Rebels retreated out of the area. With the Rebels routed, the VSD Formidable, picked up any nearby TIE Interceptors and hypered out of the area, while the Nebulon-B Frigate Fury picked up the remaining TIE Interceptors.
