This ship is ridiculously overpriced and
its cargo capacity is unusually low. A gunner count reveals
only 52 required. Unknown if 53 gunners is error or intentional.

The Tapani-class Carrier
is a lightly armoured but heavily shielded vessel, specially intended
to deliver Manta-class Starfighters directly into combat. This
swift and agile design boasts immense shield generators which endow it
protection similar to that of other fighter carriers in its class. Nevertheless,
support ships, generally corvettes or frigates are always found accompanying
this vessel. The Tapani-class Carrier was in service before the
Battle of Hoth. House Cadriaan, the planet of Mrlsst's defence forces,
and the planet of Neona each possesses one Tapani Carrier. Meanwhile,
the planet of Tallaan possesses two carriers.
Unlike conventional carriers,
the Tapani Carrier transports its charges not within its hull, but rather
outside it. Its long flat dorsal surface is employed to hold 20 Manta
Fighters, while its port and starboard sides hold an additional 10 each,
respectively. The Mantas' magnetic docking clamps holds them to the carrier.
The carrier's docking tubes allow for direct access to the fighters. In
the aft, a dorsal tower rises above the flight deck. Contained within
the tower are the bridge which features a commanding view, the ship's
turbolasers, and the starfighter service bays.
