The Gauntlet Starfighter is striking both visually and because of its weaponry. This starfighter was available on the market several years before the Battle of Yavin. Due more to the political climate rather than missing engineering excellence, this oddly configured fighter with its bold lines was not a resounding market success. It has seen use in piracy, mercenary activity, and by criminals needing to protect their bases (examples include the Tenloss Syndicate controlled Vergesso Asteroids Shadowport, and the Black Sun controlled Nwarcol Point - although in that case it operated under the cover of a corporate entity).
