Operation Repulse-Theft

The Rebels have struck again. In the ensuing battle, Rebel commandos managed to steal a prototype cloaking device from a secret Imperial research facility located on the V'Kallim planetoid. Due to the Rebel attack led by the now destroyed MC40a Yavin's Justice, the ISDII Obliterator is presently stuck in spacedock. Your intercept force will therefor be commanded from the VSDII Iron Hand. Your force complement includes 2 TIE Interceptor Squadrons. You are ordered to recover the stolen prototype cloaking device. The Rebels are presently engaged with the remainder of the facilities defence forces which are 3 IPV-1 System Patrol Craft and an equivalent of 2 squadrons of TIE Fighters. The Rebel strike force includes the Rebel Assault Frigate Dragon, Nebulon-B Frigate Mantooine and the CR90 Corellian Corvette Ironic. The Rebel fighter complement consists of 2 X-Wing, 2 R-41 Starchaser and 1 T-Wing Squadrons.
Since the vessels in this engagement are so spread out; craft with a sublight speed of:
2 Space Units can cross into the next grid square in 30 seconds.
4 Space Units can cross into the next grid square in 15 seconds.
6 Space Units can cross into the next grid square in 10 seconds.
8 Space Units can cross into the next grid square in 7.5 seconds.
10 Space Units can cross into the next grid square in 6 seconds.
12 Space Units can cross into the next grid square in 5 seconds.
Note that the closest reinforcements are at least 30 minutes away. The TIE Fighters and TIE Interceptors are carrying no warheads. The VSDII is carrying 4 Stormtrooper Transports (fully loaded with torpedoes) [along with their accompanying Stormtroopers]. All of the Rebel fighters are equipped with 4 Proton Torpedoes each.

Correct Response Number 1
It is assumed that the Rebel ships will be maintaining their current formation and will be traveling at 4 sublight units/standard time part to match the cruising speed of the Escort Frigate.

First, the TIE Interceptor squadrons are to form a defensive perimeter in front of Victory-class Mark II Star Destroyer Iron Hand.  The Iron Hand is to then proceed at flank speed to box D4 and position itself on the path between the enemy formation and its estimated escape jump point.  It is then to re-orinet itself to face the Rebel formation and engage the enemy
Nebulon B-class Escort frigate (as the escort frigate is the only enemy capital ship with dedicated anti-starfighter weaponry).  The TIE Interceptor squadrons, assisted by the Delta-class Transports, are to attack the enemy X-wing squadrons once the Escort Frigate is engaged.

Meanwhile, the TIE fighters are to draw the enemy R-41 and T-wing squadrons away from the Rebel formation by proceeding towards grid A3. The TIEs will most likely be destroyed by their Rebel counterparts; their greatest value
will be in drawing the R-41s and T-wings away from the main formation.  Once the disabled SPCs have brought their systems back on line, the SPCs are to attack the Rebel Assault Frigate from the rear (assault frigates have no rear-firing weapons).  The purpose of this attack is not primarily to destroy the frigate, but rather an attempt to slow the progress of the rebel formation; the frigate will most likely maneuver to bring its weapons to bear on the SPCs.

The Nebulon B-frigate will not last long against the Iron Hand; one or two salvos from the Iron Hand's forward firing batteries should be enough to cripple, disable, or destroy the frigate.  The Iron Hand is then to disable the corvette and recover it via tractor beam.  Once the corvette is secured, whatever fighters that remain will be recovered and the Iron Hand and the SPCs are to leave the system.  If the Iron Hand has suffered critical damage, the flag is to be transferred to the captured corvette.

Galactic Empire Data Bank's Answer
The primary target for the VSDII Iron Hand is the Rebel Corellian Corvette Ironic. The VSDII would move in towards the Corvette at maximum speed and once in tractor beam range, hit the vessel with them to hold it in place. From there the VSDII would quickly bring down the Corvette's shields and disable it. During this, any spare weapons would be directed towards the Rebel Nebulon-B Frigate Mantooine and the Rebel Assault Frigate Dragon. Once the corvette is disabled, all tractor beams and most of the guns would concentrate on the Nebulon-B Mantooine to quickly disable it. VSDII would however stay out of the Nebulon-B's forward firing arc. Meanwhile, the IPV-1 GET-1 would move to assist TIE Fighter squadrons Kappa and Omega. TIE Interceptor squadrons Alpha and Beta would engage the X-Wing squadrons, however, they would attempt to keep out of the guns of the Nebulon-B Frigate. Two Stormtrooper Transports would be launched, those transports would stay near the hanger bay while they off loaded their torpedoes against the Nebulon-B. Once the Nebulon-B has been disabled, all of the VSDII's weapons would concentrate on the Dragon. Meanwhile, using all of its tractor beams, the VSDII would put the disabled Rebel Nebulon-B between it and the Rebel Assault Frigate. Thus using the disabled vessel as a "shield". The remaining Stormtrooper Transports would launch, but staying near their hanger bay would launch their torpedo load against the Dragon. As soon as the X-Wings have been destroyed, the TIE Interceptors would come to the assistance of the TIE Fighters. Once the Dragon and Rebel fighters have either been disabled or destroyed, the Stormtrooper Transports would move in to capture the Rebel Corvette to recover the prototype cloaking device.
