Operation
Repulse-Aftermath
Imperial Forces were successfully
able to repulse but not destroy the Rebel Battle Line in the Andorus Cluster.
A number of the Rebel vessels escaped to rain destruction in other parts
in the Mid Rim. Imperial convoy AA-292 which is carrying a large sum of
munitions has been attacked by the Rebels. The convoy is also unofficially
carrying Moff Duku (onboard the Carrack Cruiser Hades). The Hades
reported that the Rebel attack force is being led by the MC40a Yavin's
Justice. And as such the Rebels have managed to capture a few of the
convoy ships. The forces under your command include the ISDII Obliterator,
Carrack Cruiser Hades (Moff Duku relinquished control), Lancer Frigate
Firewall,
Class 1000 Cruiser Rapier, and the remaining Imperial cargo ships.
Your force complement includes 3 TIE Fighter, 2 TIE Interceptor and 1 TIE
Bomber Squadrons. The Rebel force consists of 1 MC40a, 3 Modified Corellian
Action VI Transports [armed with 4 turreted turbolasers and 1 fighter squadron.
Speed 6 Space Units] and 6 Stormtrooper Transports. The Rebel fighter complement
consists of 3 X-Wing and 1 B-Wing Squadrons. The Rebels have managed to
ambush your force as it dropped out of hyperspace. Damage has been inflicted
upon your force.
Since the vessels in this engagement are so spread out; craft with a sublight speed of: 2 Space Units can cross into the next grid square in 30 seconds. 4 Space Units can cross into the next grid square in 15 seconds. 6 Space Units can cross into the next grid square in 10 seconds. 8 Space Units can cross into the next grid square in 7.5 seconds. 10 Space Units can cross into the next grid square in 6 seconds. 12 Space Units can cross into the next grid square in 5 seconds. |
Note that there are no reinforcements available. The Carrack Cruiser is equipped with ion cannons. The TIE Fighters and TIE Interceptors carry no warheads. The TIE Bombers have been equipped with 12 Proton Torpedoes each. The ISDII Obliterator is carrying no Stormtrooper Transports or Skipray Blastboats, but is carrying 5 Assault Gunboats, 8 Lambda Shuttles and 2 Gamma-class Assault Shuttles [with their Spacetroopers]. Imperial support craft are fully loaded with their respective ordnance (Assault Gunboats are loaded with Concussion Missiles). The Rebel fighters are fully loaded with Proton Torpedoes. The Rebel Stormtrooper Transports have no warheads. |

Correct Response Number 1
I would first deploy the 2 TIE Interceptor Squadrons to attack
X-Wing Squadrons Gold and Red. I would at that same time command TIE Fighter
Squadron Alpha to engage X-Wing Squadron Green, and have TIE Fighter Squadron
Beta engage B-Wing Squaddron Blue, while TIE Fighter Squadron Gamma engages
the Rebel Stormtrooper Transports to prevent them from capturing
any more Imperial Freighters. During that, the Star Destroyer would try
to gun down some rebel fighters with some of its turbolasers, while
targeting Action Transport Warrior 4 and firing at it with its other turbolasers
and ion cannons to drop its shields and disable it if its in range of the
Star Destroyer's guns. The 5 Assault Gunboats and the Gamma class Assault
Shuttles would also be deployed in which the Assault Gunboats and Assault
Shuttles would try to disable the Rebel Stormtrooper Transports and any
further captured Imperial Freighters so that the Assault Shuttles and their
Spacetroopers can board the disabled ships and capture or recapture them
for the empire. The TIE Bomber Squadron would also be deployed in the beginning
phases of the battle so that 2 flights of 6 Bombers attack the modified
action transports Warrior 3 and 4 but not destroying Warrior 4 instead,
just dropping its shields so that the Star Destroyer and Class 1000 Cruiser
Rapier can disable the Action Transport when they are in range to fire
at it. After Warrior 3 has been destroyed and Warrior 4's shields have
dropped, the bombers will target Warrior 2 and destroy it, while the Lancer
Frigate retreats if possible. And once Warrior 2 has been destroyed, the
bombers that still have warheads will target the Calamari Cruiser and drop
their remaining payload towards it, the bombers that do not have any warheads
will assist Imperial Fighters to eliminate Rebel Fighters until all surviving
bombers formed back up with them, at which time they will head back to
the hangar of the Star Destroyer. During that, Gamma Squadron will also
assist the remaining fighter squadrons in eliminating rebel fighters after
the Rebel Stormtrooper Transports have been disabled. As for the Assault
Gunboats, they will do the same after their targets have been disabled.
The Assault Shuttles on the other hand will return to the hangar of the
Star Destroyer after their job is complete. Once the Imperials have destroyed
every rebel fighter in the area as well as captured the Stormtrooper Transports
and recaptured any further Imperial Freighters, the Assault Gunboats, the
TIE Fighters, and the TIE Interceptors, will begin a campaign of strafingrun
attacks on the Calamari Cruiser, by which critically damaged imperial fighters
will retreat into the hangar of the star destroyer, until either all friendly
fighters have been critically damaged or until the combined damage of the
torpedoes and fighter attacks have caused the Calamari Cruiser's shields
to drop. If that point comes, the assault shuttles, the Class 1000 Cruiser
Rapier and all other non critically damaged ships with ion cannons will
race towards the Calamari Cruiser and attack it with ion cannons, which
will be followed by Assault Gunships whose shields were managed to be restored
to 150% to 200% inside the hangar of the star destroyer until the Calamari
Cruiser has been disabled. During this phase, ships damaged critically
by the Calamari Cruiser will again be allowed to retreat into the hangar
of the star destroyer, as long as their not any capital ships. As for critically
damaged capital ships, they will be allowed to fall back into safe distance
from the calamari cruiser's guns.

Galactic Empire Data Bank's Answer
The ISDII Obliterator would deploy its remaining fighter complement, including the Assault Gunboats. Meanwhile, TIE Fighter squadrons Alpha, Beta and 6 fighters from Gamma would engage the X-Wing squadrons. The remaining 6 TIE Fighters from Gamma squadron would engage the B-Wings to keep them off balance. The Lancer Frigate Firewall would make its way towards the ISDII while firing at its attackers, however, it will most likely be destroyed. Due to this all personnel, except the bridge crew and gunners would abandon ship. The BFF-1 Freighters Marina 1, 2 and 3 would move to grid D2 to enjoy the protection of the ISDII. During that, the Carrack Cruiser Hades would move to grid C3 to help drive off the Rebel Stormtrooper Transports. All of the Assault Gunboats would move to assist the Hades. The TIE Interceptor squadrons would engage the Rebel fighters to destroy them. During all of this, the TIE Bombers would concentrate their efforts on destroying the Modified Corellian Action Transports one by one, as they offer the least sum of resistance. As soon the Rebel fighters have been destroyed, Imperial fighters would move in to help finish off those targeted Rebel vessels. Should BFF-1 Freighters 4, 5 and 6 be captured by the Rebels, the Assault Gunboats would disable them to prevent their escape. As soon as the Rebel fighter presence has been sufficiently weakened, and if the BFF-1 Freighters are disabled (due to the Assault Gunboats) both of the Gamma-class Assault Shuttles would be launched to recover those freighters. Once recovered, those freighters and Assault Shuttles would move to grid D2. Once the Assault Gunboats have arrived and engaged the Rebel Stormtrooper Transports the Hades would move to support the Rapier. The Class 1000 Cruiser Rapier would move to engage the MC40a Yavin's Justice. Should the Rebel capital ships move to engage the Imperial Star Destroyer, the ISDII would concentrate its fire and tractor beams on the MC40a Yavin's Justice to quickly destroy the vessel. Once the Modified Corellian Action Transports have been destroyed, all remaining Imperial fighters would move to engage the MC40a and hopefully destroy it. |
