Nebulon-B Escort

Captain, your Nebulon-B Escort Frigate Raptor has been assigned to escort an Imperial munitions convoy code named Alpha 3-14. Let nothing happen to it. Your fighter complement includes 2 TIE Fighter squadrons. The convoy consists of 6 unarmed BFF-1 Bulk Freighters. It has been learned by Imperial Intelligence that the Rebels in the region which Alpha 3-14 is to pass through have a critical shortage of warheads and other munitions due to successful Imperial Fleet actions. A Rebel Force has been sent to capture your convoy, including your Nebulon-B. The Rebel Force includes 1 X-Wing and 1 B-Wing squadrons and 10 Stormtrooper Transports. Your orders are to drive off the Rebels raiders and ensure that none of the BFF-1 Bulk Freighters are captured.
Note that there are no reinforcements available. Both TIE Fighter squadrons do not have any warheads. The X-Wings have no warheads. The B-Wings only have 4 Proton Torpedoes each, while the Stormtrooper Transports only have a pair of Proton Torpedoes.

Correct Response Number 1
First, I would order the Raptor along with the two TIE squadrons flanking it to C5. The Bulk Freighters in D2,D3,D4 would file behind it to D6. Since the  Rebels want to capture the convoy and not destroy it, their main weapon of use  will be ion cannons against the Raptor and the Bulk Freighters. I would divert power from the Raptor's tractor beams to the turbolasers increasing their power to 5D each. The first part of the battle would occur in the lower right hand corner of C5. Since the stormtrooper transports that were located in B1 and A3 would be closing in on our position, our forces must promptly eliminate or at least cripple the Rebel forces in B5.
The two TIE squadrons would concentrate their attack on the B-wings first  since they possess ion cannons. Meanwhile, the Raptor would provide cover by engaging the X-wings with its 12 laser cannons while at the same time pouring turbolaser fire into the 4 stormtrooper transports. The Bulk Freighters would remain in D6 to the rear, and any B-wings that made it through the initial attack would be pursued and destroyed by the remaining TIEs.
After this blitzkrieg attack, all of the B-wings should be either destroyed or incapacitated along with most of the X-wings and original stormtrooper transports. The remaining TIEs would proceed to harrass the six oncoming stormtrooper transports and any remaining X-wings. The 2nd phase of the battle would take place around C4. The Raptor would divert some of its power from its laser cannons to reinforce shields since most of the X-wings are gone. The Bulk Freighters would remain to the rear of the Raptor. The rest of the battle would just be a matter of taking out the rest of the stormtrooper transports through constant turbolaser fire and the TIEs. Seeing their chances at capturing the convoy gone, the remainder of the Rebel force would more likely than not retreat and if they did not it would only be a matter of time before they were destroyed. Because the Raptor is escorting a convoy, we will continue escorting it to its destination and will not stop to take prisoners or check for survivors. Once we reach our destination we can always send forces back.

The TIE Fighters would stick close the to Nebulon-B Frigate Raptor and allow the Rebels to come to them. Meanwhile the BFF-1 Freighters would form into two columns of three ships each in front of the Nebulon-B (staying close to the frigate), so that the guns of the Raptor can protect the freighters from the Rebel Stormtrooper Transports targeting the freighters. Once the Rebel group that is targeting the Nebulon-B Frigate Raptor is in range, the Raptor would concentrate all of its starboard side weapons against the Rebel Stormtrooper Transports. While Alpha and half of Beta squadrons move in to engage the X-Wings, the other half of Beta squadron would engage the B-Wings to keep them off balance. During this any Rebel Stormtrooper Transports that are targeting the freighters come into range of the Raptor, the Raptor would hit that transport with a tractor beam and concentrate 1/4 of its forward weapons to quickly destroy the transport (thus 2 transports can be captured at one time and thus half of the forward weapons would be used to quickly destroy those transports). While the remainder of the forward weapons would fire at the incoming transports. Once the X-Wings are destroyed, the half of the remainder of those TIE Fighters would assist in quickly destroying the remaining B-Wings, while the other half would move to engage and destroy the Rebel Stormtrooper Transports targeting the freighters using group tactics. Once the B-Wings were destroyed, those TIEs would target any of the remaining transports to destroy them.
