The B-12 Bacta Transport is a medium transport that is a common sight among the space lanes. Commissioned by the Empire to ensure the movement of bacta to the Core Worlds, as well as to the Imperial Military; the B-12 was the fruit of KDY's efforts. In order to keep operating costs as low as possible, it was designed to be manned by a minimal crew complement. This transport's uncanny similarity to the Lancer Frigate is no accident, as the Lancer Frigate was based off the B-12. The B-12 was most likely on the market before the Battle of Yavin.

Connecting the fore and aft sections of the ship is a corridor shaft, in which all 16 bacta storage spheres are attached via physical clamps and tractor beam anchors. Its bridge and command centre placement in the fore section is nearly identical to the Lancer Frigate. Propelling this heavily cargo laden ship through space are an immense cluster of ion engines, which are open to space to permit easy access by maintenance crews, and thus lack armour plating as found on the Lancer Frigate. To minimize the probability of bacta contamination, each of the 16 storage spheres are removed, instead of pumping the bacta out; while the B-12 is at an orbital transfer station. Thus, the bacta is transported in its original storage sphere from the start to the finish. On its return journey, empty storage spheres or loaded cargo pods are attached to the B-12 for hauling.

Behind the five seated bridge, on the left side is a storage bin area and the ship's entry ramp. To the right side (behind the bridge) is the refresher and galley. The next section (as it is separated by a bulkhead) contains eight crew quarters on left side, and on the most left side is a storage area. Meanwhile, on right is the entertainment area, captain's quarters, and on the most right side is a storage area. Behind this section, and separated by a bulkhead is the (central) main access corridor which runs between the bacta holding modules, all the way to the aft of the ship.
