The A-1 Deluxe Floater was intended to be the speeder that was both reliable and could be afforded by anyone. In order to meet the affordability goal Mobquet made the speeder a bare bones design. Mobquet's marketing of the A-1 emphasized its low cost. Despite its low cost, a high retail value is retained by the A-1. This speeder was first introduced before the outbreak of the Clone Wars, and its original price of 6,500 Credits has not changed over the decades (as of the Battle of Yavin). While the A-1 was not the sleekest, most desirable or quickest speeder on the market, its body often disintegrated before its reliable and rugged engines gave out. Interestingly however, to some the A-1's appearance suggested speed, or being a cloud car or suborbital hopper.

Referred to as the Deluxe, it lacks numerous luxuries that are standard features on most vehicles: autopilot, navigation beacon sensor, onboard computers, and entertainment systems. These omissions however, could be purchased as add-ons. Other add-ons included automated steering, fine Corellian leather (seating?), and altitude sled package for greater altitude range (but the sled was nearly half the price of the A-1). Seated behind one behind the other is the pilot and passenger.

It is possible to burn oneself on the A-1 when exiting, since the user must crawl over the exposed outlets that flank the main body. Thus users must have faith in the Deluxe's cooling shrouds to not getting burned. Located in the nose are the inlet ports for the forced-air-cooling system (to cool the engine banks). This system however is infamous for allowing outside smells and pollution to enter the cabin, as well as noise due to insufficient insulation. Not surprisingly, critics like Clegg Holdfast did not hold the Deluxe in high regard. But for nefarious persons, its "luxury" and evasive capabilities have made this enclosed landspeeder a frequent choice of vehicle to drive.

A four passenger variant also exists. It comes complete with tinted shields, leather interior, autopilot, cruise control, alarm system, and a Xellar Entertainment System.
