Imperial spies learned of
the secret negotiations between the Twi'leks and Rebel Alliance High Command
that would take place and so informed Imperial Forces. An ambush was set
up for the Twi'lek delegation as it had just left their home world. The
ISD Avenger dropped out of hyperspace just long enough to hastily
deploy 9 TIE Bombers before returning to hyperspace. Rebel Alliance Counter-Intelligence
learned of the planned ambush and was only able to send 2 Y-Wings to thwart
the Empire's ambush. The ISD Avenger hypered out of the area as
the Rebels had just entered the area. The Rebel Y-Wings had come behind
the TIE Bombers. TIE Bombers from Alpha and Beta stayed to engage the Rebel
Y-Wings with laser cannons and concussion missiles, while Gamma went straight
towards the Twi'lek Corvette. In the end the Rebels were able to destroy
all the TIE Bombers before they could reach and destroy the Twi'lek Corvette,
which hypered out of the area about seven minutes after the battle had
started. The Twi'leks were unfortunately able to get to the summit and
soon agreed to join the Rebellion.
