The Empire, alerted to the Sullustan's intentions to join the Rebel Alliance, captured the Sullustan Leader on the planet's surface during the diplomatic summit was being conducted between the Rebel and Sullustan delegations. The Empire hoped to blackmail the Sullustans into submitting to the Emperor by threatening to kill their leader. The leader was in a convoy of shuttles escorted by TIE Fighters on their way to the ISD Invincible which was 22 km away. The X-Wings were to engage and destroy the TIE Fighter escorts while the Y-Wing would locate the shuttle carrying the Sullustan Leader and disabled it so the leader rescued. Farlander hypered into the area with the X-Wings and made his way towards the shuttles.
The TIE Fighter escorts noticed him and moved to attack. He was able to destroy a TIE Fighter on the head on pass. He then switched to torpedoes as the remaining TIE Fighters continued pass him and fired one torpedo at each shuttle. With that four of the shuttles turned around to engage Farlander. And with that, Farlander switched back to his laser cannons and destroyed the attacking shuttles. During this, the shuttle carrying the Sullustan Leader still kept heading towards the ISD. Using the Wotan Weave, Farlander was able to reach the shuttle and disable it, while at the same time preventing pursuing TIE Fighters from destroying him.
The Rebel shuttle dropped
out of hyperspace when the Imperial shuttle carrying the Sullustan Leader
was disabled. With the escorting TIE Fighters destroyed, the X-Wings hypered
out of the area. Farlander then turned his attention on the TIEs nearest
to the Rebel shuttle, they were TIE Interceptors. Farlander destroyed those
TIE Interceptors which were targeting the Rebel shuttle with his three
remaining proton torpedoes. With the destruction of those TIE Interceptors,
the ISD Invincible responded with launching another wave of TIE
Interceptors. Soon after the Rebel shuttle completed its mission by transferring
the Sullustan Leader from the Imperial shuttle to the Rebel shuttle and
it hypered out. With the shuttle gone, the TIE Interceptors targeted Farlander,
which he was unfortunately able to destroy them all.
