The Rebellion's Ordnance and Supply Command alerted all Rebel Sector Commands that the Rebellion's supply of reserve astromech droids was dangerously low. Thus Rebel High Command issued a priority acquition search for R2 Units. Yesterday, an A-Wing recon mission located the BFF-1 Freighter ARS Opus, the freighter itself had broken down (hyperdrive failure). The Rebels sent Farlander to protect a Rebel shuttle as it captured the freighter, since the Rebels had problems with pirates stealing their starfighters in this sector. When Red Squadron came out of hyperspace, the Rebel shuttle was almost 3 km away. Farlander stayed close to the freighter.
Pirate Y-Wings hypered into
the area about 30 seconds after Farlander did. With that Farlander ordered
his wingmen to attack the nearest of the Y-Wings. Within two minutes the
Rebel Shuttle Rescue Riker had docked with the disabled freighter.
Throughout this time, none of the Pirate Y-Wings attacked the freighter.
However, short time after the start of the battle, four Stormtrooper Transports
hypered in. Realizing the threat they posed Farlandered ordered his wingmen
to attack them, while he supported them. With the destruction of the four
Stormtrooper Transports brought about a second wave of them, but they too
met the same fate as the previous ones. Once the freighter ARS Opus
was captured, Blue Squadron hypered into the area, forming an escort for
the captured freighter. The Pirate Shuttle Kappa appeared, however
it was never engaged in the battle and it did not approach the captured
freighter.
