This was the battle where the Empire deployed its latest starfighter...the Assault Gunboat. The recently rescued Rebel pilots from Star's End have alerted their follow Rebels that a freighter carrying Wookie forced workers was departing from Kashyyyk and was headed for a secret military construction project. Red Squadron hypered into the area, between the Rebels were 6 Assault Gunboats. The ISD Intrepid was about 12 km away. The Assault Gunboats were 3 km away from the Rebels, and the Rebels' target, the freighter was 6 km beyond the Assault Gunboats. The Assault Gunboats targeted Red One and Two. Red One and Two proceeded with a head-on attack against the nearest Assault Gunboat, while Farlander made a flank attack with his proton torpedoes. Red Two succumbed to the Assault Gunboats missiles and was destroyed in the first pass, however Farlander was able to let off three proton torpedoes before he was noticed.
In the thick of it, Raider and Farlander fired off one more torpedo, however the Imperial fighter evaded. Farlander and Raider were able to destroy all of Assault Gunboats and proceeded towards the freighter. The escorting TIE Fighters split into four groups of three fighters. Imperial Forces had the 6 to 1 advantage over the Rebels. In a short time, the Rebels were unfortunately able to eliminate half of the TIE Fighters. Raider continued to tangle with the TIE Fighters while Farlander went after the freighter and scanned it. Gold Squadron came in a few moments after Farlander identified the freighter. Red Squadron was able to finish off the TIE Fighter escorts and with that the ISD launched reinforcements.
The first wave of TIE Fighters
were intent on destroying the Y-Wings, who were disabling the BFF-1 Freighter
Toral. With the freighter disabled the Rebel transport arrived.
And once it docked the Y-Wings hypered out of the area. The Rebel transport
was just transferring the Wookies from the freighter to their transport.
The TIE Fighters that got passed Farlander were after the transport before
it could hyper out. Farlander switch to his two remaining proton torpedoes
and destroyed the leader with one of his torpedoes and he destroyed the
second TIE Fighter with his lasers. The Rebel transport hypered out and
Farlander finished off the TIE Fighters he was after. While Raider finished
off the TIE Fighters he was combating. With the TIE Fighters cleared, Farlander
formed on Raider's wing and they both hypered out of the area.
