The ISD Illustrious was transferring prisoners to the CR90 Corellian Corvette Assassin. The Rebels launched their rescue operation while the corvette was still in the ISD's hanger. They targeted the ISD with the proton torpedoes. The ISD Illustrious deployed its two TIE Fighter, three TIE Interceptor and one TIE Bomber squadrons to defend itself.  At the mid point of the battle, the VSD Achilles arrived. Moments later the Strike Cruiser Hermes arrived. Both of these vessels launched their complement of starfighters to help fight off the Rebel attackers. The Rebels caused severe damage to the ISD Illustrious, that it forced the CR90 Corellian Corvette Assassin to leave the hanger and make a run to its hyperspace point. The Rebels did not stop there, they let off a few more proton torpedoes, which caused the ISD to explode. The corvette just cleared the hanger when this had happened. The Y-Wings were able to disable the fleeing corvette carrying the prisoners.

    Once the corvette was disabled, the Rebel ATR Wraith came out of hyperspace and headed towards the disable corvette so it could be captured. TIE Bombers in the area, began to target the ATR to prevent it from capturing the disabled Imperial corvette, but unfortunately they were not successful. The Rebels kept Imperial fighters at bay while the ATR docked with the corvette and deployed commandos to seize control and repair the corvette. Near the end of the battle, the ATR was able to capture the Imperial corvette. With the corvette captured the ATR and the now captured corvette made their way to their hyperspace points. The corvette hypered out first and then the ATR followed a short time later. By the time the battle had ended the Rebels were able to destroy all of the Imperial starfighters in the area. But due to their losses the were not able to cause even more losses to the Empire, fortunately.
