The first target in the Rebels offensive was their captured outpost near Gelgelar. In the rush of the Rebel evacuation, the Rebels were forced to leave behind supplies that are vital to their continued operation in this sector. When the Rebels did make their attack, their starfighters were the first to hyper in, then the MC80a Liberty followed. Both the VSD Stormhawk and Platform Hormuuz launched TIEs into combat while the Nebulon-B2 Frigate Harpy did not. The MC80a Liberty first engaged the Nebulon-B2 Harpy with assistance from Green Squadron. Shortly after the Nebulon-B2 Harpy was forced to withdraw from the battle due to heavy damage sustained, with that the VSD Stormhawk engaged the MC80a Liberty. In the ensuing fire fight, the VSD Stormhawk went to withdraw from the combat area due to heavy damage sustained but it never got the chance. The Star Destroyer was too close to the MC80a for it to be able to successfully hyper out of the area to safety and it was destroyed. With the Imperial capitals ships eliminated, Green Squadron turned its attention on the platform to disable it for fire suppression, while Rogue Squadron obtained space superiority. After the TIE Bombers targeting the MC80a were destroyed, Assault Gunboats hypered into the area in an attempt to continue the attack on the vessel. Unfortunately, the Assault Gunboats also destroyed before they could destroy the MC80a. With the platform disabled and all Imperial Forces in the area destroyed, the Rebel's Heavy Lifters hypered in to pick up their cargo containers and then hypered out of the area, which is what the rest of the Rebel ships did as well. With the supplies now in Rebel hands, it would do much for their terrorist efforts in this sector. However with Imperial patrols mounting in the sector, it would become more difficult for the Rebels to receive supplies from their outside sources.
