A-Wing Red 1 was sent out to verify the contents of two space containers that had been hidden in an asteroid field. After the contents had been verified, the MC80a Stimsenj'kat deployed two Stormtrooper Transports to dock with the space containers, to transfer their contents to the MC80a. After the containers were inspected by Red 1, a group of 4 Assault Gunboats came out of hyperspace to engage the Rebels. Since Red Squadron was the only Rebel squadron that had been deployed, it was the one to engage the incoming Assault Gunboats. The Assault Gunboats targeted the space containers and the transports moving towards them. The first wave of Assault Gunboats defeated were defeated, and a second wave of 4 Assault Gunboats appeared and directly engaged the Rebel fighters.

Soon after their appearance, the Nebulon-B Frigate Rapier hypered into the area. During this period, the MC80a started to deploy Blue and Gold Squadrons. The Imperial frigate started to deploy its TIE Bombers and TIE Advanceds. A short time later the Nebulon-B Frigate Firestorm came out of hyperspace and it too deployed its TIE Bombers and TIE Advanceds. This battle was the Empire's first deployment of the TIE Advanced (Before Hoth Version) which was disastrous. Both of the Imperial frigates were were flanking the MC80a some distance away from it. However, during the battle the Nebulon-B Frigate Firestorm moved to directly engage the MC80a, which happened later in the battle. The Firestorm traded fire with the MC80a until its destruction.

Meanwhile the Nebulon-B Frigate Rapier was under attack by B-Wings. During the fighting the two Rebel transports made multiple trips between the space containers and the MC80a to ferry over the supplies. The Imperial frigate Rapier was unfortunately was defeated, it was destroyed a short time after the Firestorm was. After the destruction of the Nebulon-B Frigate Rapier, the Nebulon-B Frigate Reaper came out of hyperspace. However by this time with the combination of Red and Gold Squadrons, the fighters deployed by the previous two Imperial frigates were unfortunately destroyed. The Reaper deployed its TIE Bombers and TIE Advanceds like the other Nebulon-Bs, however, its arrival was far too late to change this disaster into an Imperial victory. By the time it was launching its fighters, the MC80a had recovered its two transports and had hypered out of the area along with its fighters. This battle resulted in one Rebel pilot accounting for the destruction of over 30 Imperial craft, this pilot could have been Keyan Farlander.
