The rendezvous between the ISD Dauntless and X7 Factory Station Sentinel for the transfer of TIE Advanceds to the ISD was discovered by Rebel Intelligence. The Rebels also learned that the TIE Advanceds were being piloted by ferry pilots. The Rebels planned to destroy 3/4 of the TIE Advanceds being transferred over to the ISD. While Imperial Forces had to ensure that 1/3 of the TIE Advanced survived to make it to the ISD. The Rebels sent Rogue Squadron supported by Gold Squadron to conduct this attack on the Empire. Gold Squadron was assigned to keep Imperial fighters off of Rogue Squadron, while Rogue Squadron attacked and destroyed the TIE Advanceds as they tried to make it to the safety of the ISD's hanger bay.
Some moments after the battle
started, Imperial reinforcements arrived, they were the Assault Gunboats
from Rho Squadron. The Assault Gunboats did everything they could to keep
Rogue Squadron from accomplishing their mission, however Rogue Squadron
was able to destroy the Assault Gunboats. With the destruction of Rho Squadron's
Assault Gunboats, signalled for the Assault Gunboats from Mu Squadron.
Unfortunately, they too met the same fate as the Assault Gunboats from
Rho Squadron. Once the Rebels accomplished their goal, they immediately
hypered out of the area, not staying to fight off the remaining TIE Interceptors
and TIE Bombers.
