With the Death Star complete and on its campaign of striking terror to keep the systems in line, Imperial Forces were on the attack in all sectors. With that Rebel High Command sent out a priority alert to all Rebel bases that Imperial Forces were on the move. Red Squadron was ordered to protect a hidden military supply cache from an Imperial attack until they were relieved by Blue Squadron. Red Squadron was on patrol for less than two minutes when the Imperial Nebulon-B Frigate Retsub dropped out of hyperspace right in the middle of the Rebel depot. Since the Rebels were in range, the Imperial frigate immediately opened fire on the Rebels. As the Rebels moved to get out of range, four TIE Bombers were launched by the Imperial frigate.
Farlander switched to concussion missiles and targeted the nearest TIE Bomber, which was Alpha 3 and ordered his wingmen to attack. Then Farlander launched a head-on attack on Alpha 4. However, Alpha 3 turned into the concussion missile's path and was destroyed instead. However that did not save Alpha 4, since Farlander launched another concussion missile at it, which this time it found its mark. At the mid point of the battle two Rebel freighters arrived, but soon after they hypered out of the area. Farlander's wingmen destroyed Alpha 2, while Farlander destroyed Alpha 1 using a concussion missile. With the destruction of those TIE Bombers, brought about a replacement wave for them and with that the Rebels just repeated their previous tactic.
This time however, the TIE
Bombers were able to evade Farlander's first three missiles. However the
missiles caught all of them but one. About then four more TIE Bombers were
launched. And on top of that another four more TIE Bombers were launched.
Their was an exchange of concussion missiles and laser blasts between the
Rebels and Imperial Forces, until the last of the TIE Bombers were destroyed.
The Rebels also managed to destroy another 16 TIE Bombers that were launched
by the Imperial frigate. Red Three was destroyed by two quick successive
concussion missile hits. Unfortunately Imperial Forces were only able to
destroy one of the space container in the depot. The Nebulon-B Frigate
Retsub
hypered out of the area before the battle had ended. Red Squadron hypered
out of the area when Blue Squadron arrived.
