The Rebels captured in the
previous battle led the Empire to believe that their comrades had constructed
a starship yard in this system. Despite the terrific loss of material to
the Rebels when the Empire destroyed the Rebel convoy, the Rebels were
able to manage to build this component factory. The ISD Rage hypered into
the area and deployed its TIEs. Beta Squadron targeted the Gun Emplacements,
while Gamma Squadron escorted them and protected the ISD Rage. Avenger
Squadron was on hand to deal with the squadron of X-Wings that were protecting
the Rebel factory. A little before the Imperial starfighters engaged the
Rebel starfighters, the YT-1300 Goldhawk hypered into the system near the
Imperial starfighters and headed straight for the factory. Once the Gun
Emplacements were destroyed, Stormtrooper Transports Sigma 1 and 2 were
launched to capture the station, they fired off their mag pulse torpedoes
to suppress the station's defences so it would be easier for the TIE Bombers
to take down its shields. Gamma Squadron was forced into intervene when
the X-Wings decided to attack the Stormtrooper Transports to prevent their
destruction. Shortly after, all of the Rebel X-Wings were destroyed. Stormtroopers
were able to board and seize control of the factory. The Stormtroopers
downloaded the factory's data banks and placed demolition charges on the
station before leaving to return to the ISD Rage. Without warning, the
MC80a Crucible hypered into the area to rescue the Rebel factory's personnel.
The Rebel vessel launched its complement of starfighters. With the arrival
of the Rebel ship, the Rebels launched two shuttles and the YT-1300 Goldhawk
from the factory and headed towards the MC80a. The Rebel shuttles would
never make it to their destinations and the YT-1300 Goldhawk engaged itself
in attacking the retreating Stormtrooper Transports. The YT-1300 did not
succeed in its attacks, it was later destroyed. TIE Bombers turned their
attention on the Rebel vessel, and like wise the Y-Wings attacked the ISD
Rage with their proton torpedoes. While that was happening, the Z-95 Headhunters
engaged the Imperial starfighters. Once all of the evacuating Rebel ships
were destroyed, the MC80a Crucible hypered out of the area, but it had
the time to watch all of its starfighters launched destroyed. The Rebel
factory was destroyed by the demolition charges set by the Stormtroopers.
The intelligence gained in this operation was incredible. The Rebel factory
was producing starship components destined for as of yet an undiscovered
Rebel shipyard.
