Part of the military equipment captured in the last battle passed though an Imperial repair facility near Coruscant. Rebel High Command believed that an attack on this base could be devastating to the Empire. By knocking out this facility it would cripple the infrastructure that services ships that the Death Star project depends on. They ordered that the facility to be completely destroyed. The Imperial Corvette Falcon was near the repair dock and other vessels were arrayed around it, including space mines. 2 TIE Fighters and 2 TIE Bombers that were protecting the base moved to attack Red Squadron as they dropped out of hyperspace, so Farlander ordered Red One to attack one of the TIE Bombers, while he took the other. Then the Rebels engaged the TIE Fighters in the same way.
Farlander ordered his wingman to attack the shuttles which were awaiting repairs, while Farlander destroyed the Imperial corvette with proton torpedoes outside the range of the space mines. He also cleared the space mines themselves. Using this strategy allowed Farlander to build up his shields. Then Red One attacked the Repair Dock, while Farlander headed towards 3 stationary TIE Fighters. On the way there the Imperial Frigate Vulture hypered into to the area and began to launch TIE Interceptors and TIE Bombers. Farlander broke off his attack on the stationary TIE Fighters to engage the TIE Bombers launched by the Imperial frigate.
Soon after Red One had destroyed
the Repair Dock he hypered out of the area. Farlander did his best to evade
the pursuing TIEs, he was able to destroy the Stormtrooper Transport that
were also waiting for repairs. He continued on to destroy 6 stationary
TIE Bombers. Farlander would break off to dogfight with one of the TIE
Interceptors or TIE Bombers when they made it easy for him. Every time
Farlander destroyed a group of fighters launched by the Imperial frigate,
more would be launched to replace the losses. Once Farlander had destroyed
the all 6 of the stationary TIE Bombers, Farlander turned to engage the
TIEs that were still pursuing him. As soon as they were destroyed he hypered
out of the area as another wave of TIE Interceptors had launched.
