With the capture of the Imperial Nebulon-B Frigate Priam, the Rebels learned the location of the construction site of the Death Star. Two Rebel Corellian Corvettes were sent to investigate and they only found the shattered remains of the prison planet of Despayre. Imperial Forces were lying in wait for the Rebels and so the Rebels were ambushed and the corvettes were captured. Since these Rebel corvettes were vital to the Rebel fleet, Rebels decided to retake their captured corvettes. Red Squadron was to protect the Y-Wings as they disabled the corvettes and were to also protect the Rebel shuttles as they retook the corvettes. The Rebel corvettes were about 10 km away from the point that Red Squadron came out of hyperspace. Six Assault Gunboats were protecting the corvettes as the Empire's shuttles made their way to the disabled Rebel corvettes to repair them.

    When Farlander came out of hyperspace he redirected his shield power to the engines and set the cannon recharge rate to maximum. He then switched to proton torpedoes, and targeted the nearest fighter, Assault Gunboat Tau 3 and ordered his wingmen to attack. Farlander's R2 Unit informed him that Imperial shuttles had docked less than 30 seconds after the Rebels came out of hyperspace. As soon as Farlander had a lock on Tau 3 he fired a proton torpedo at him. However in return Farlander was hit by a concussion missile fired by another Assault Gunboat after he fired his proton torpedo. After which he targeted Tau 2 and fired a proton torpedo at him. Farlander then boosted his shield recharge rate to maximum and switched to lasers. He then finished off the Assault Gunboat with a few laser shots. Farlander went as quickly as he could to destroy the remaining Assault Gunboats. Both of his wingmen had been destroyed. The Y-Wings hypered into the area 3 minutes after the battle started, they were able to disable both of the corvettes right after they were repaired by Imperial Forces. They were nearly 8 km away and replacement Assault Gunboats had arrived. Rho group went after Farlander while Tau went after the Y-Wings.

    Farlander was able to destroy two Assault Gunboats from Rho and then went to assist the Y-Wings. Blue 1 had been destroyed. To get there Farlander redirected all power to the engines and weaved in to the Y-Wings direction. The Y-Wings started to escape into hyperspace by the time Farlander had arrived at the disabled corvettes. Six minutes after the Y-Wings had arrived, the Rebel shuttles hypered into the area. By the time the shuttles arrived, there was only one Assault Gunboat left. The Rebel shuttles were just ready to dock, when Farlander destroyed Assault Gunboat Tau 3 and a new pair of Assault Gunboats dropped into the area. On top of that replacements for Tau group arrived. Mu group went straight for the Rebel shuttles. So Farlander maneuvered to attack them from the side as they opened fire.

    Just as Farlander was destroying the second Assault Gunboat from Mu group, Tau group got close enough and fired off a couple of concussion missiles at Farlander. The concussion missiles found their mark, the first caused an overload that blew out Farlander's hull/shield integrity display, but unfortunately the second concussion missile was not able to hit Farlander since he had evaded. As Farlander was re-engaging the Rebel Rescue Teams had been successful and the Rebel shuttles and recaptured Rebel corvettes were heading to their hyperspace jump points. Farlander continued to destroy Assault Gunboats until those Rebel craft were safely away. Then a pair of Assault Gunboats from Nu group arrived and well as replacement for Tau group. Farlander engaged and destroyed the Assault Gunboats from Nu group. However this time, Farlander was not able to evade the missile attack from Tau group and he auto-ejected as his X-Wing was destroyed. Unfortunately, Farlander was rescued.
