After the destruction of
the Airam Pirate Asteroid Base, the ISD Rage rendezvoused with the Escort
Carrier Urrob for replacement starfighters to replace starfighters lost
during the Empire's campaign. However, the replacement starfighters would
not be of the same class. Avenger Squadron would replace its starfighters
with TIE Advanced while Gamma and Beta Squadrons would be combined to form
the new Talon Squadron, which would receive the Assault Gunboats. Avenger,
Beta and Gamma Squadrons were launched to protect the transfer operation
of starfighters. Without warning Airam ships hypered into the area. All
of their ships except their starfighters and their Dreadnaught were attempting
ramming runs on the ISD Rage. The Airam starfighters targeted the Imperial
replacement starfighters as they were being ferried over. In the end the
ramming ships were either destroyed before they reach their target, but
some did manage to make it through. During this, the Dreadnaught Heretic
moved to attack the ISD Rage, however its attack did not succeed, it too
was destroyed. Some time into the battle, Rebel starfighters hypered into
the area for a raiding mission on the TIE Advanced that were being ferried
over. The B-Wings targeted the TIE Advanced with their ion cannons so they
could be captured, while the A-Wings provided starfighter cover. The Airam
T-Wings never succeeded in their efforts and they paid for that with their
destruction. When the B-Wings disabled two of the TIE Advanced, they then
turned their attention on the Escort Carrier Urrob. The Rebel Escort Shuttles
Storm 1 and 2 arrived to carry away the disabled TIE Advanced. Realizing
that the Rebels were going to capture the TIE Advanced, Imperial Pilots
were ordered to destroy the Escort Shuttles before they could accomplish
their task. With the Escort Shuttles destroyed, there was no reason for
the Rebel to be at the battle any more since their mission had failed.
The Rebel fighters simply hypered out of the area to save themselves from
destruction by Imperial Forces. With all opposition defeated and the area
safe, the ISD Rage launched Utility Tugs Gopher 1 and 2 to dock and repair
the TIE Advanced which then returned to the ISD. All of the replacement
starfighter reached the ISD Rage without being destroyed. The Empire's
ongoing intelligence efforts against the Rebels was very promising, however
the Airam were distracting the Empire from its main goal, to eliminate
the Rebel threat from this sector.
