In an attempt to gain more information on the Airam situation, the Empire set out a bait resupply convoy carrying munitions, whose flight plan through the Klaatu Systems was leaked to the Airam. The convoy was only escorted by ETR Kappa, which would make the convoy a tempting target for the pirates. The ISD Rage had been waiting nearby for the pirates to attack. The pirates did not disappoint the Empire, they did attack the convoy as expected and when they did the ISD Rage hypered into the area to spring the trap. The ISD Rage deployed its complement of starfighters into the battle. Avenger Squadron attacked any of the starfighters while Beta and Gamma Squadrons concentrated on the R-41 Starchasers with their concussion missiles. The R-41 Starchasers were concentrating their attacks on the Imperial convoy ships, while the T-Wings provided cover for them. The Empire was able to catch the Pirates before they were able to capture any ships of the convoy. The ISD Rage ordered the Airam Pirate Cargo Ferries to surrender or be destroyed. With sufficient starfighter opposition eliminated Stormtrooper Transports Sigma 1-4 were launched to capture the pirate vessels. The Cargo Ferries surrendered once their shields collapsed or were ready to collapse. ETR Kappa entered the hanger of the ISD Rage. The pirate R-41 Starchasers attacked the ISD Rage with their proton torpedoes, however the greatest threat from the pirates came from their surprise attack using Escort Shuttles armed with proton torpedoes to attack the Star Destroyer. The Stormtroopers were able to capture the pirate Cargo Ferries, which then hypered out of the area. What was left of the pirate force was destroyed. It was learned from the prisoners that Airam losses have been severe and that they were experiencing critical supply shortages, especially munitions. The pirates also revealed the location of their base, which was later destroyed by Imperial Forces.
