Zaarin's Forces were stripping the research platform where the TIE Defender was developed. Loyalist Imperial Forces hypered into the area, to prevent Zaarin's forces from sabotaging or escaping with any critical technology. The Empire sent 3 TIE Defenders to clear out the initial defences of the platform, which were 12 TIE Bombers. These TIE Bombers came in 4 waves of 3, in an attempt to destroy Loyal Imperial starfighters. During the brawl, Cargo Ferry Sakin 1 was able to escape. However, the other 2 Cargo Ferries that hypered into the area, were not as fortunate and they were destroyed by the TIE Defenders before they could pick up and take the containers containing TIE Defender Prototypes. During all of this combat, TIE Defender Prototypes were being flown from the platform to the containers for Zaarin's forces to pick up. Once all of the TIE Bombers were destroyed, Zaarin sent reinforcements into the area. Escort Carrier Jitte launched 12 TIE Fighters in 3 waves of 4 to combat Loyal Imperial forces. When Imperial forces engaged the traitor forces, the TIE Defender pilots were surprised to find out that Zaarin had equipped his TIE Fighters with shields! The Platform then launched 3 Utility Tugs to recover the TIE Defender Prototypes and soon after the launching of the Tugs, Cargo Ferry Sakin 4 hypered into the area. This is when ATR Assault Transports Omega 1 through 4 arrived, they quickly dealt with the Cargo Ferry and then they engaged the Escort Carrier. In the ensuing fight, several ATRs were lost, but Imperial replacements soon arrived. It wasn't long after the Empire destroyed Zaarin's reinforcements. With Zaarin's reinforcements dealt with, all Loyal Imperial forces set their sights on the platform. The TIE Defenders were able to eliminate the Utility Tugs before they were able to haul the cargo containers to the safety of the platform. The combined attack from ATR Assault Transports and TIE Defenders quickly brought down the shields of the platform and disabled it. One of the ATRs boarded the platform, unleashing its Stormtrooper detachment who quickly seized control of the facility. Throughout the battle, Zaarin's Lambda-class Shuttles were trying to escape the area, but they were all disabled before they could do so by Maarek Stele. The ISD Adarga was en route to the platform and arrived there after the area was secured. The ISD launched Heavy Lifters to pick up the Type C containers and Stormtrooper Transports to board and capture the disabled shuttles, while the ATRs promptly left the area. Without warning, a Rebel A-Wing Red 5 came out of hyperspace 1 km from the platform, but Maarek Stele destroyed the A-Wing before it could get away. As if on queue 4 A-Wings came out of hyperspace many km from the platform, the TIE Defenders engaged the A-Wings. When the A-Wings were nearing total destruction 4 X-Wings and shortly after the X-Wings appearance 4 B-Wings appeared, both starfighter groups came out of different hyperjump vectors and several km from the TIE Defenders. Once the A-Wings were destroyed, the X-Wings engaged the TIE Defenders in an attempt to keep them occupied while the B-Wings would make their attack run on the platform. The Rebels were ultimately unsuccessful and were destroyed. Both the traitor Zaarin and the Rebels were defeated at this battle.
