Rebel Special Forces Command had succeeded in sabotaging an important military transport carrying Imperial Military Advisors. It was hoped by the Rebels that these high ranking officers had been been assigned to the Death Star project and had knowledge about it. Red Squadron was sent to help oversee the capture operation. Red Squadron was launched at 0455 hours. When Red Squadron arrived, Blue Squadron and the Rebel shuttle were already there on their way to capture the disabled Imperial shuttle. Farlander identified the disabled Imperial Stormtrooper Transport Omicron 1 and had his shields and lasers fully charged. Farlander decided to stay close to the shuttle.

    About a minute into the battle, 6 Assault Gunboats came out of hyperspace. Farlander ordered his wingmen to attack the nearest one. By the time the Rebel boarding party had captured the Imperial transport, Farlander had destroyed 3 Assault Gunboats. While dogfighting the Assault Gunboats, Farlander noticed that Blue 1 was getting hit pretty badly. Farlander ordered him to withdraw and he tried to keep the Assault Gunboats off of him, while the X-Wing prepared for the hyperspace jump. Fortunately, Farlander was not able to stop the Assault Gunboats that joined together to attack Blue 1. Seconds before Blue 1 could escape into hyperspace he was destroyed. The Rebel Nebulon-B Frigate Inad dropped out of hyperspace a moment later, so Farlander turned back to the captured Imperial transport, staying close to protect it. Farlander was able to destroy another Assault Gunboat and he saw that Blue 2 had been shot up. Blue 3 had also been destroyed, however Farlander's wingmen were still in good shape. Then the ISD Immortal dropped out of hyperspace 4 km away.

    The Rebel frigate was more than 13 km away and the captured Imperial transport still had more than 10 km to cover to get to the Rebel frigate. Both the captured Imperial transport and the Rebel shuttle were headed towards the Rebel frigate. The Stormtrooper Transport Lambda 1 arrived near the captured Imperial transport, Farlander moved immediately to attack it. He fired a pair of proton torpedoes at it. The ISD Immortal launched 3 TIE Fighters. The TIE Fighters and the Assault Gunboats kept after Farlander, so he requested assistance as he kept after Stormtrooper Transport Lambda 1. His proton torpedoes missed the Imperial transport twice with near-misses until they finally hit the transport and destroyed it.

    Stormtrooper Transport Lambda 2 arrived to replace its predecessor. Farlander destroyed it and he also destroyed Stormtrooper Transport Lambda 3 that had came to replace Lambda 2. Both of Farlander's wingmen were hit in the process of trying to keep him safe from the pursuing Imperial fighters. When Farlander was sure there were no more Stormtrooper Transports to worry about, he turned his attention on the remaining Imperial fighters. As soon as the captured Imperial transport was aboard the Rebel frigate, Farlander hypered out of the area. His wingman Omin-Oreh was recovered and was floating in a tank on the Med Deck on the MC80a Independence by 0547 hours.
