For Phase 1 of this decisive
Imperial victory in the Airam Sector, Admiral Senn wanted to capture the
Rebel shipyard for Imperial use to pacify the remains of the Airam Sector,
however he was going against the Emperor's standing orders. Admiral Senn
ordered a reconnaissance of the Nocto System and the clearing of any static
defences that could be protecting the Rebel shipyard from capture. Imperial
Forces had only 15 minutes to conduct this phase before the SSD Vengeance
would arrive. Both Avenger and Talon Squadrons were reassigned from the
ISD Rage to the SSD Vengeance and also Talon Squadron was re-equipped with
TIE Advanced to replace their Assault Gunboats. The location of the Rebel
shipyard was revealed to Imperial Forces by prisoners that were recently
captured by Imperial Forces. Avenger and Talon Squadrons hypered into the
area quite some distance away from the shipyard. The Rebel shipyard was
being protected by the Rebel Nebulon-B2 Frigate Valiant. Moments after
the arrival of Avenger and Talon Squadrons, the Rebel Nebulon-B2 conducted
a micro jump to the Imperial starfighters' co-ordinates. Once complete
the micro jump, the Nebulon-B2 let loose its T-Wings after the Imperial
starfighters, which Imperial Forces engaged. A short time after the Nebulon-B2
deployed its starfighters, the MC40a Pertenax arrived as reinforcements
and deploys its A-Wing complement. During the fighting, the Rebels launched
Stormtrooper Transports from the shipyard to rush crews on to the three
incomplete ships that were in the shipyard. Imperial Forces were able to
reach the Rebel shipyard in time to identify the three incomplete ships
that were leaving the shipyard to flee from the area. Imperial Forces were
also able to destroy the Rebel starfighter opposition and the static defences
along with the ETR which was laying extra mines, just before the SSD Vengeance
hypered into the area which frightened off the Rebel capital ships. Imperial
Forces were also able to get sensor readings on all of the Rebel ships
in the area. In Phase 2 of this battle, which was the SSD Vengeance launching
its attack to destroy the Rebel shipyard in an attempt for Senn's entire
command staff to redeem themselves. The ISD Rage hypered into the area
a short time after the SSD Vengeance. Both Avenger and Talon Squadrons
were heavily increased in size to accomplish the mission. The Rebels made
their last stand here at their shipyard. They launched all of their starfighters
from the shipyard and they quickly called for their A-Wing reinforcements.
Both Rogue and Green Squadrons were heavily increased in size in an attempt
to destroy the SSD Vengeance. And the MC80a Liberty and the Modified Strike
Cruiser Peregrine were called in for extra support in an feeble attempt
to destroy the SSD Vengeance. The Rebels' allies in the Airam pledged that
they would send what ever support they could. The ISD Rage launched its
complement of starfighters which were the two squadrons of TIE Bombers
against the Rebel shipyard. The SSD Vengeance launched Avenger and Talon
Squadrons as well as TIE Fighters and TIE Interceptors into the battle.
A CUV was positioned forward to allow warhead reloads to Imperial starfighters
during the attack. The Rebels starfighters conducted their attack on the
SSD Vengeance using their heavy rockets. Unfortunately, all of the TIE
Fighters, TIE Interceptors and TIE Bombers that were deployed in the battle
were destroyed. The Rebel capital ships and the shipyard were inspected
by Imperial Forces during the battle. Once the Rebel Admiral was found
aboard the MC80a, ATR Omicron was launched to capture the Rebel ship. The
Rebels launched their Muurian Transport during the battle, the transport
concentrated its attacks on Talon Squadron. It would later be destroyed
in the battle. In the later half of the battle the Rebels launched three
Dreadnaughts on ramming runs on the SSD Vengeance's engines, these ships
in order were the Lupo, Topol and the Nicodemus. These ships came in succession
after its predecessor was destroyed. They were supported by drone Y-Wings
which were also programmed to ram the SSD Vengeance's engines. Imperial
Forces were able to destroy the Rebels' prized ship, the Modified Strike
Cruiser Peregrine. Imperial Forces were able to capture the MC80a near
the end of the battle. During the fighting the Rebels managed to destroy
the CUV, so another one was launched to take its predecessor's place. With
the battle almost over, Rebel Gallofree Yards Medium Transports arrived
in the area to rescue the personnel on the Rebel shipyard, but they would
not be successful since they were destroyed before the could flee the area.
The ramming ships combined with the Rebel heavy rocket attack caused serious
damage to the SSD. When the last of the ramming ships were destroyed, without
warning the Airam Corvette Thunder laden with Space Bombs came out of hyperspace
near the SSD Vengeance and with flank speed headed toward the command tower
of the Imperial warship. Fortunately, Imperial starfighters were able to
destroy the corvette before it could strike a fatal blow against the SSD.
Most of the opposition eliminated, remaining Imperial starfighters went
to finish off the Rebel shipyard and the remaining Rebels. It was Avenger
Squadron that fired off the last two pairs of space bombs that destroyed
the Rebel shipyard and ensured that the Empire would be able to take over
this sector to restore peace and order on the Airam. As per the Emperor's
orders the MC80a Liberty's crew was sealed in the ship and was sent on
a collision course with the nearest star. With Rogue Squadron's greatest
defeat and losses, the Empire avenged the loss of the Death Star by Rogue
Squadron. The pilots of Avenger and Talon Squadrons were to receive Imperial
Honours on the Imperial Centre by the decree of the Emperor, due to their
pivotal role in the Airam Sector campaign.
