This raid utilized the newly introduced B-Wings. Unfortunately, after the Shantipole debacle, rumours had spread though out the Imperial Fleet, which had rattled TIE pilots causing them to greatly fear the B-Wing. Six TIE Fighters were deployed from Petrakis base to rendezvous with the arriving Imperial convoy to provide additional escort. Before they could reach the convoy however, the Rebel raiders hypered into the area. The Imperial convoy hypered into the area in waves. With the sight of the B-Wings bearing down on them, the cowardly TIE Pilots opted to run away instead of engaging them. Meanwhile the lone escorting X-Wing went to engage the Imperial convoy. The X-Wing was attacked by the two Stormtrooper Transports who were with the convoy, unfortunately in the end those transports, with the help of the B-Wings were destroyed. The B-Wings pressed their attacks on the freighters carrying the TIEs and the escorting Corellian Corvettes.
A short time after the battle
started, two Assault Gunboats hypered into the area. The Assault Gunboats
and the Lambda Shuttles attacked the Rebel fighters. However, unfortunately
their attempt was not successful in destroying the Rebels. Near the end
of the battle, 4 neutral Y-Wings hypered into the area and began attacks
on the Rebel fighters to keep them away from their freighters. In the end,
however that new threat to the Rebels was not able to save what was left
of the Imperial convoy. With the Rebels' mission accomplished, they hypered
out of the area, leaving the neutral forces behind them.
